Our Process for Finding The Perfect Fit

How We're Different

You may be challenged to distinguish one search firm from another.  It's the way we partner with you to define your needs, consider all the options, create a search strategy, manage the search process, and keep you informed every step of the way to be sure we are meeting your expectations.

Building Consensus - fact finding, survey and profile

Key to success in any search is defining the desired outcome. We begin by designing a customized survey and meeting with your hiring team to identify key elements unique to your assignment.  After reaching a consensus, we draft a position profile that concisely defines your organization, reporting relationships, required responsibilities and goals, and the experience you seek.

Customized Research and Sourcing

We will compile a target list of organizations for you to examine prior to recruiting to ensure that your valuable business relationships are not compromised.  Targeted individuals are identified and contacted confidentially by us as either sources or potential candidates.  Searches are led by senior partners supported by talented, experience researches trained in best practices and current technologies.

Evaluation Interview and Summary

Each qualified candidate's background is carefully reviewed during our interview process to identify strengths, weaknesses, and motivations.  We discuss with you the most promising candidates including compensation information, achievements, goals, reason for interest, and character traits.

Progress Report and Meeting

Within 30 days of starting the search we usually have leading candidates identified.  We report our findings to date.  It includes detailed resumes, and our recommendations on promising candidates.  Additional recruiting, progress reports and meetings may be conducted, if necessary.

Client Interviews

After considering our recommendations you select the candidates to be interviewed by your organization.  We will assist you with the coordination of all interview arrangements and will provide your search committee with interview questions and training if you desire.

360° References

We conduct reference checks on final candidates.  Typically, we question former managers, peers, and subordinates.  As reference checking is an inexact science, we encourage our clients to participate in the process.

The Offer

Once your selection is made, we will assist with any issues related to negotiating the offer.  We consult and strategize with you to develop an offer that the chosen candidate will likely accept.  We also work closely with the candidate to minimize the appeal of a counter offer from their current employer.  We will assist with relocation issues to ensure a smooth transition.

Satisfaction

We will follow-up periodically to ensure that a successful hire has been made.  Ninety-nine percent of our hires are successful.  If the need arises, we will re-open the search for up to one year to ensure your satisfaction.
